A Psalm. Of David.

23:1 The Lord takes care of me as his sheep; I will not be without any good thing.
23:1 JEHOVA es mi pastor; nada me faltará.

23:2 He makes a resting-place for me in the green fields: he is my guide by the quiet waters.
23:2 En lugares de delicados pastos me hará yacer: Junto á aguas de reposo me pastoreará.

23:3 He gives new life to my soul: he is my guide in the ways of righteousness because of his name.
23:3 Confortará mi alma; Guiárame por sendas de justicia por amor de su nombre.

23:4 Yes, though I go through the valley of deep shade, I will have no fear of evil; for you are with me, your rod and your support are my comfort.
23:4 Aunque ande en valle de sombra de muerte, No temeré mal alguno; porque tú estarás conmigo: Tu vara y tu cayado me infundirán aliento.

23:5 You make ready a table for me in front of my haters: you put oil on my head; my cup is overflowing.
23:5 Aderezarás mesa delante de mí, en presencia de mis angustiadores: Ungiste mi cabeza con aceite: mi copa está rebosando.

23:6 Truly, blessing and mercy will be with me all the days of my life; and I will have a place in the house of the Lord all my days.
23:6 Ciertamente el bien y la misericordia me seguirán todos los días de mi vida: Y en la casa de Jehová moraré por largos días.

Introduction

This rendition of the Psalms contains the Bible in Basic English along with the Reina-Valera translation in Spanish. The Bible in Basic English is not simply another example of the Bible story put into present-day English. This version is effective in communicating the Bible to those where English is a second language.

The language used is Basic English produced by Professor C. K. Ogden. His work identified 850 words which are able to expess every idea English.

The BBE was translated by Professor S. H. Hooke using the standard 850 Basic English words. One hundred words that were helpful to understand poetry were added along with 50 "Bible" words for a total of 1,000 words.

The Reina-Valera Antigua Bible was first translated and published in 1569 by Casiodoro de Reina in Basel, Switzerland after twelve years of intensive work for the first Spanish Bible. The translation is based on the original Greek and Hebrew text. It has undergone a number of orthographical updates over the years, but is still the most commonly used Bible in Latin America.

Esta versión de los Salmos contiene la Biblia en Inglés Básico junto con la traducción Reina-Valera en español.

La Biblia en Inglés Básico no es simplemente otro ejemplo de la historia de la Biblia puesto en la actual Inglés. Esta versión es eficaz en la comunicación de la Biblia para aquellos en Inglés es un segundo idioma.

El lenguaje utilizado es Inglés básico producido por el Profesor C. K. Ogden. Su trabajo identificó 850 palabras que son capaces de Expess cada idea Inglés.

El BBE fue traducido por el profesor S. H. Hooke utilizando las 850 palabras estándar básico de inglés. Se añadieron cien palabras que fueron útiles para entender la poesía junto con 50 palabras "Biblia" para un total de 1.000 palabras.

La Antigua Biblia Reina-Valera se traduce primero y publicado en 1569 por Casiodoro de Reina en Basilea, Suiza, después de doce años de intenso trabajo por primera Biblia en español. La traducción se basa en el texto griego y hebreo original. Ha sido sometido a una serie de cambios ortográficos en los últimos años, pero sigue siendo la Biblia se usa más comúnmente en América Latina.
